What is Radon?

Radon is an odorless , colorless and tasteless radioactive gas that emanates from rocks and soils it means that Radon escapes from the ground into the air and tends to concentrate in enclosed spaces such as home or public buildings like ; working spaces, schools or in hospitals. people are not properly informed about the hazards of radon gas.

Radon is the second cause of lung cancer in the general population, after smoking.
Epidemiological studies have provided convincing evidence of an association between
indoor radon exposure and lung cancer, even at the relatively low radon levels
commonly found in residential buildings.

How does radon affect your health?

When you breathe in radon, radioactive particles from radon gas can get trapped in your lungs, these radioactive particles increase the risk of lung cancer. It may take years before health problems appear. Radon gas cases lung cancer which is the second most diagnosed cancer in the world after cigarette smoking , bad news is that Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in 2020 .The resulting health effects in children are similar to those of adults, predominantly including lung cancer and respiratory illnesses such as asthma, bronchitis, and pneumonia .It goes without  saying  that  because of this phenomenon  the environment is under  threat , this harmful gas  with highest levels have found in places like mines, caves and water so we need to do something  in order to face and then overcome this problem , don’t forget that we are responsible for the natural world also the future generations .
